I have been training upland bird dogs for 28 years. Bird dogs have always been a passion of mine. It is my goal to breed and develop top notch gun dogs and field trial competitors. I have been breeding dogs for 16 years and have competed with them in coverdog field trials with great success. My breeding has produced 1 Champion, 1 Runner-Up Champion, 2 runner-up Michigan derbies of the year, and one Michigan puppy of the year. The dogs that I select to breed must prove to me their ability in the grouse woods before I  breed them. I will only breed the best to the best.

I started Hifive Kennels in 1996 and turned full time professional in the spring 2002. I left my journeyman mold making position of 12 years to work dogs full time. With all the effort I put into Hifive Kennels it made the transition easy.

 Within Four short years of being a professional grouse dog trainer I have won 1 Championship, 1 R-U Championship, and placed in 14 classics: 4 shooting dog, 7  derby, and 3 in puppy competition.  Within those 4 years I also earned a total of 18 shooting dog, 32 derby, and 19 puppy placements.

I train both trial and gun dogs for the public. These dogs are worked hard on wild birds. I take pride in my work and have the time needed to turn your dog into the best wild bird dog that they can be.
